This project involved the complete transformation of a dated three-bedroom first-floor maisonette within a converted Victorian terraced property. The client's primary objective was to maximise the available living space by undertaking a loft conversion while modernising the entire property to create a bright, spacious and functional family home. Working closely alongside the appointed architect, we reimagined the layout to unlock the property's full potential while preserving the character and charm of the original Victorian features.
The property was fully stripped back before undergoing a comprehensive refurbishment. Our works included the construction of a loft conversion, repositioning the internal staircase to optimise access and maximise usable floor space, and reconfiguring the internal layout to create a more practical and efficient floor plan. We installed two new bathrooms, a bespoke kitchen, new plumbing and electrical systems, engineered wood flooring throughout, and high-performance acoustic floor insulation to minimise sound transmission to the downstairs property. New roof skylights were introduced to flood the loft with natural light, while traditional coving and picture rails were carefully incorporated to complement the property's original period character.
The completed renovation successfully transformed an outdated Victorian maisonette into a contemporary, high-specification home that makes full use of every available square metre. By carefully balancing modern construction techniques with traditional architectural detailing, we delivered a property that feels significantly larger, brighter and more functional while retaining its original character.
